The Jungian and Quantum Consciousness Bridge

Woman awakening to the power of her unconscious mind and consciousness creating reality

You may have been taught that mind and matter are separate. That physical reality exists concretely outside of us and we simply sense and interact with what is already there. But quantum physics tells us something different.

Let us start by defining specifically what is mind and what is matter — within our brains. We might imagine mind or consciousness to be the energy that moves through and animates physical brain tissue, or matter. But what is that brain tissue made out of if broken down? We can trace it from tissue, to cell, to molecule, to atom. So if there is a distinction between matter and mind (energy) then it is safe to assume that an atom would be relatively solid.

What scientists have discovered may surprise you. What we had once assumed was solid matter is actually composed almost entirely of energy, with physical matter making up a vanishingly small fraction. The smallest building blocks of all physical reality — are mostly made up of energy. The scientists further discovered that the subatomic particles that make up the atom are affected by being observed. So the energy within an observer's mind had an direct influence on the energy within an atom. With this discovery it was no longer possible to clearly separate mind from matter. Or to say that one does not have impact on the other. But why is that relevant to you?

Well, do you assume that life just happens to you? Do you feel as if you have little control over the events that happens “out there”? Do you oftentimes feel victimized by circumstances "out of your control?" Through these scientific discoveries, we are beginning to understand that mind creates reality — that our consciousness has a far greater impact on our physical experience than we ever imagined.

What if the people, the patterns, and the circumstances that continually show up in your life are actually reflecting back to you, your own inner world? What if, unknown to you, you were the creator of all that you now experience? For many, that question hits hard. You might be thinking — I did not choose this. I did not choose the pain, the loss, or these patterns. And in some ways, you’re right. But this is where Jungian theory adds an interesting perspective. What if there is another aspect of your mind that influences and shapes your reality without your conscious awareness?

In Jung’s theory of the psyche, the aspect of our mind that is within our conscious awareness is called the ego. And while our ego contains our personal narratives, our memories, and our sense of self - it relates to the rest of the psyche as an island in the midst of a vast ocean. So what lives beneath the surface of that vast ocean? Within what one might call the first layer of the unconscious mind, you’ll find your personal unconscious. This is where your shadow, your inherited beliefs, your parental complexes and your unconscious patterns live. Jung once wrote that “until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” This couldn’t be more true. All of those contents exert a powerful influence on your life — acting to magnetize certain people, situations, and events. That unconscious energy influences the very energy that, as we explored earlier, makes up what we call physical reality. So if you — consciously or unconsciously — created all that you are currently experiencing, can you instead create something different?

The answer is yes. You can embark on an inner journey, dive into your unconscious mind, uncover the root causes of your recurring patterns, and learn to harness the abundant creative energy that lives within you. You can learn to imagine (and live) as an entirely new you.

So what do you wish to create?
